When Shinobu is sent to fight in the front lines of the Siberian Intervention, he is presumed dead. Benio, heartbroken, moves in with Shinobu's grandparents and begins working as a reporter to support them, embodying the series' themes of female independence and resilience. Years later, Shinobu returns but has lost his memory and believes himself to be a Russian man named Sasha Mikhailov—who, in a twist of fate, is revealed to be his long-lost twin brother. The story follows Benio as she tries to help Shinobu recover his memory and reunite their love.
