NSFS160+4K links utilize a hybrid copper/fiber architecture. For runs under 15 meters, shielded, impedance-matched copper pairs carry the 160 Gbps signal using PAM-4 (Pulse Amplitude Modulation 4-level) encoding. For longer runs (up to 300 meters), the system seamlessly switches to active optical fiber without reconfiguration.
