Trimble stopped selling new classic perpetual licenses in November 2020. However, some organizations that purchased perpetual licenses with active maintenance plans prior to that date were issued classic serial numbers for SketchUp Pro 2022. If your company owns one of these legacy licenses, your specific serial number and authorization code can only be generated and provided by Trimble or an authorized reseller. If your organization holds a valid, legacy 2022 perpetual license: Open SketchUp Pro 2022. Click on the tab on the welcome screen. Select Add License .
Trimble has fully embraced subscription licensing. As of 2025, SketchUp Pro 2022 is considered a “legacy version,” but subscribers can still download and run it. However, new features and security updates are only available in the latest version (2025).
