SketchUp Pro 2021 is often overlooked because it didn’t introduce flashy rendering engines or radical interface overhauls. Instead, it focused on what professional users actually need: better file management, improved modeling logic, and stability. While newer versions have since been released, 2021 remains a "sweet spot" for many firms due to its reliability and lightweight performance on older hardware.
Historically, users bought SketchUp through a (also known as a perpetual or lifetime license). You paid a larger one-time fee upfront and owned that specific version forever. To get newer updates, you paid an optional annual Maintenance & Support (M&S) fee.
