Tamil computing requires accessible, Unicode-compliant fonts for digital preservation of classical literature. This paper investigates the font identified as “MCL Valluvan” — its origin, license status, and ranking among “53 best” free Tamil fonts. Findings show that while many free Tamil fonts exist, “MCL Valluvan” is not widely documented.
